SANTA'S ARRIVAL ON SATURDAY 7TH DECEMBER
It was another hugely successful event with almost sixty children turning up. Santa arrived by limousine and was chauffeured driven by Mr. Philip Jacob. Children arrived about 2.15pm to a beautifully decorated hall. With Santa’s stage and seat down on one end.
A special mention must be given to Miriam Halford, Deirdre Heavy and Co. for this I have never seen anything as good. The children were entertained with face painting, party bags and music by wonderfully talented Miriam Halford, Deirdre Heavey, Lorraine Byrne Carpenter, Phildelma Early, Jenny Eustace, Maria Byrne, Barry and not forgetting Petra Mcloughlin who did excellent work with the face painting. When Santa came to the hall he had a present for everyone and they had the opportunity to get their picture taken with Santa. He was definitively one of the most cheerful and best Santa’s I’ve ever seen. The kids loved him.
I would like to take a moment to mention how well organised this event was from start to finish. A special thanks goes to
Miriam Halford
Deirdre Heavey

And everyone on the day.

A letter to Santa:
Santa
Santa dear Santa,
I am five and my sister is two and I am writing to you Santa so you can bring us some presents too. Santa I met you a few weeks ago when you were visiting Clongorey Hall for our Christmas show. We were all singing Christmas carols and jingle bells and you were in the Santa chair talking to all the boys and the girls. When I called up to you, Santa I whispered in your ear, the list of the presents I wanted this year. That’s why I am writing to you Santa for me and my baby sister Kate that you won’t forget us on the Christmas night.
Santa Dear Santa, we have the house all ready for you. Dad has cleaned the chimney for you to come through. My mammy has put all the Christmas lights up and the star looks so bright on the very top. Santa I am leaving out some Christmas cake and a drink for you, carrots for Rudolph and all the reindeer too. Toby our dog has been told to be quite and not to bark to give Santa a fright. I am going to bed early Santa to make sure I’m asleep. I might have one eye open Santa but I’d still be asleep. Mammy just read me a lovely story about this Christmas week. When Jesus was born in a manger to Mary and Joseph and the Three Wise Men came with their lovely gifts.
Please Santa don’t forget to call Christmas night because me and my baby sister Kate will be up at the first sign of light. Oh god Santa, I nearly forgot to give you my name and where to stop with the reindeers and sleigh. My name is Finn McCool from the Clongorey end, that’s near Newbridge, Kildare and Ireland.
