Pauraic Early (Captain)
Position: Striker
Pauraic has been with Clongorey since they were founded in 2003. Pauraic is very dependable and saves his best for the big games He has been the most prolific striker Clongorey have had and has regularly topped the scoring charts. He has been rewarded for his consistency by been handed the captaincy role for the up-coming 2007-08 season.

Shane Byrne (Vice Captain)
Position: All rounder

Shane has also been with Clongorey since they were founded and is the only player to have played every position of the pitch for Clongorey. His versatility is his greatest asset and he is equally as good and committed no matter what position he plays. Shane is also reknowned for his short fuse and has been know to throw the odd tantrum if he doesn't get his own way!!!

John O'Rourke
Position: Defender

John joined Clongorey in 2006 and immediately made the centre back position his own. He is a vastly experienced player who played most of his career with Caragh Celtic. He joined Clongorey as he had moved home and couldn't face the dreaded commute any longer. An Eexcellent leader on the pitch, but a very dodgy penalty taker.

Patrick Byrne
Position: Defender/Midfielder

Another man who could fall into the All rounder role Paddy joined Clongorey in there debut season and immediately stood out as been an excellent signing. Paddy can play in any position and has contributed greatly to the success of Clongorey. He always gets his fair share of goals and has a knack for the free-kicks. He is a good friend of the referee's and usually ends up in there notebooks.

Peter Byrne
Position: Midfielder/Striker

Peter has also been with Clongorey since there debut season and has terroised opposing defences since. A great striker or midfielder and gives his all to any cause in the club. Won payer of the year in 2005 and immediately bought a book called "the offside rule" I don't think he has read it yet.

Pat Johnson
Position: Midfielder

Pat signed for Clongorey United on a free-transfer mid-way through the 2004-05 season and what a signing he has been. His all action style is what keeps the Clongorey engine ticking. A Roy Keane/Steven Gerrard type player who never runs out of energy and was player of the season for the season gone out. Pat has been known to win the odd dubious free-kick or penalty!!

Sammy Byrne
Position: Striker

Daniel aka Sammy is somewhat of a legend in Clongorey. Sam was one of the founder members and one of the main reasons for the success of the club. A devout Clubman who does more than his fair share of work in the club. On the field Sammy played the first season in defence but his playing career took a dip through injury and because of this hasn't had a prolonged run in the team. He has chipped in with one or two important goals. Has recently invented a new flick but the jury is out as to wether its a help or a hindrance.

Declan Moore
Position: Defender

Declan is with Clongorey since their debut season, and will go down in the history books as been the scorer of Clongoreys first ever goal. Ironically he also scored the second A wonderful strike from the halfway line. which during a recent poll was voted as the best Clongorey goal of all time,
He doesn't like opposing players getting by him and tends to leave a foot out if such a situation occurs. Another one who is good friends with the referees!!

Niall byrne
Position: Defender

Niall has been with Clongorey since the beginning, but really came to the fore in the 2004-05 season with some excellent performances from the left back berth. A reliable and steady defender he received the player of the year award in 2006. Naill continues to go from strength to strength and will be a big loss to the club this year when he goes travelling.

Thomas Anderson
Position: Defender/Midfielder

Thomas transferred to Clongorey in 2005 from local rivals Eleson, Such was the media frenzy at the time and the levels of abuse he received Tom was almost forced to quit the game. Thankfully for Clongorey it didn't come to that and on his debut he scored 2 goals. Tom was a regular in that promotion season of 2005-06 and although injury forced him out of much of 2006-07 he still made a comeback in the semi-final of the cup to lay on the vital ball to give Clongorey the win. In 2006 Tom picked up 3 man of the match awards ironically he didn't play in any of these 3 games!!!

John Boland
Position: Goalkeeper/Defender

John also joined in the Summer of 2005 and was to play a major part in the clubs promotion from Div 4. He played at centre half during that season and can be best described as a gentle giant. While challeging for Posession John can knock over 2 or 3 people such is his physique, but been the gentleman he is he will always have a hand out to pick them back up. In 2006-07 John turned his attention to goalkeeping and proved to be just as successful in that position playing a pivotal role in the cup run.

Danny Domican
Position: Goalkeeper/Striker

Danny joined the Clongorey ranks in the 2004-05 season as goalkeeper. He had previous spells with Coill Dubh and Eleson. Danny played excellent in that first season and made the keeper slot his own. Danny is a very committed player and will rarely miss a training session, Danny was forced to miss the second half of last season with a hand injury, but this didn't stop him and although he couldn't play in goal he did play a few games up front and banged a few goals in doing so.

Ger McDonald
Position: Midfielder/Striker

Ger came on board in the 2005-06 season under the watchful eye of then manager Martin Heavey. Ger can play in any position on the pitch but his best position is probably up front. Although he was an integral part of the team in the 05-06 season it was the 06-07 season when we saw the best of Ger. Ger was one of the top scorers and would put the fear of god in opposing goalkeepers with his ability to pick a shot from anywhere on the pitch. Ger likes to warm up for matches listening to music from his favourite band the Sawdocters!!!!

Kevin Deasy
Position: Midfielder

Kevin is another of Martin Heavey's signings in the 05-06 season. Kevin usually plays at right midfield but can do a job at right back or in the centre also.
Kevin is a very dedicated trainer and will always give a hundred percent. Kevin leads a hectic social life and according to mate Ger is always first to the bar.

David O'Brien
Position: Defender

Another dedicated trainer! David was part of the start-up at Clongorey and in the debut season played at centre midfield. After this he moved into the defence and had made the right back slot his own until a serious knee injury almost forced him out of the game. Dave is still a very experienced footballer and is a vital part of the Clongorey setup.

Daithi Ivers
Position: Midfielder

Daithi is a young player who has joined the ranks this season. What many people don't know is that Daithi infact made his debut for Clongorey in the 06/07 season against BBC. Daithi can be best described as A tigerish energetic player who gives his all on the pitch. Played particularly well in the Old bog road Tournament, and if he can stay injury free will be an excellent addition to the Clongorey team.

Dermot O'Toole(Bongo)
Position: Midfielder

Bongo joined Clongorey at the start of the 06/07 season along with fellow veteran John O'Rourke. A skilful player with an excellent touch who brings a wealth of experience to Clongorey. Bongo played most matches for the first half of the 06/07 season and his most memorable moment was scoring direct from a corner against Wexford. He didn't play as many games in the run in last season due to injury but no-one can doubt his effort when he is on the pitch, Unfortunately he is always the first to volunteer for a penalty.

Shane Taaffe
Position: Midfielder

Another excellent addition to Clongorey from the academy. Shane is one of a crop of youngsters coming through to the first team ranks at the moment. And what an exciting prospect he is, A pacey winger with excellent ball control Shane has proven that he can do a job when called on by the management.

Terry Mc Bride
Position: Midfielder

Terry joined the team in 05/06. He has brought experience and professionalism to the club. Terry who played schoolboy football for Accrington Stanley has an excellent knowledge of the game and is now doing the player assistant manager role. A classy player who if left with time will destroy opposing teams. Also known as Super Mario!!

Paul O'Brien
Position: Striker

Paul is another player just promoted from the Academy and another with a big future at the club. Has a strong physique and uses his physical presence to stamp his authority on the game. He has shown that when called on he can do the job. Paul has a big future with Clongorey.

Eoin Heavey
Position: Midfielder

Eoin is another product of the youth academy and has shown glimpses of what he is about in pre- season matches. A skilful player who will run the flanks all day long. Eoin has missed the start of the season through injury but has shown enough to prove he is capable when asked. Son of Clongorey legend Vincent Heavey Eoin too has a big future at the club.

Keith Leavey
Position: Midfielder/Striker

An outstanding asset to the club who can play in any position. Keith who is only 16 has just started playing with Clongorey this season. And what a start he has made using his pace and strength he has been upsetting opposing defenses fromt the off. An excellent player and another reason why the future looks good for Clongorey.

Vincent Heavey
Position: Clubman

Vincent along with Sammy Byrne and Ray Heavey were the sole reason for the set-up of Clongorey Utd. Vincent has been chairman of the club until this season and what a job he has done. From a position 5 years ago where clongorey didn't even have a pitch, Clongorey now have a grounds and dressing rooms to rival that of anyone in the county. Even though he stepped down as chairman Vincent still plays an active role in the Club donating his personal time and recently sponsored the club with Shorts and Socks.

Noel Hill
Position: Chairman

Martin Heavey
Position: Treasurer
